Director's Biography
The Administrator of Adventures in Education is Elaine Sneider. Elaine has two
children and has been educating children for forty years. She graduated with honors from Owens Community College with a degree in Early Childhood Education.
She has served in the capacity of Preschool Administrator and Teacher, Enrichment
Teacher, Children's Fellowship State Coordinator (in Indiana), and Voice and Piano
Teacher. Elaine has instructed classes and camps for The Toledo Zoo, The 577
Foundation, Bedford Community Education, Sylvania Community Services, Maumee Community Education, Maumee Valley Country Day, The Toledo Village Shule, and the Perrysburg Recreation Department. Elaine has also volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader, Big Sister, a 4-H Advisor and with Ohio Reads. She has taken courses in CPR, First Aide, and Prevention of Communicable Diseases.
A member of Holland-Springfield Chamber of Commerce since 1998, she served on the Membership Committee for one year. She has been a member of Toledo Area Piano Teachers Association for nineteen years and was program chairman for two years.
Elaine is a Lifetime Member of Waterville Playshop, has performed in five Waterville
productions and was Waterville’s Assistant Director for CHARLOTTE'S WEB. She also performed in four Grand Rapids shows.
She has directed HONK! Jr.,TALES OF THREE, the musical, and THE JUNGLE BOOK, the musical for Kids ACT 2. She also has directed THE GOLDEN PANCAKE, QUEEN ISABELLA FINDS A CASTLE, THE FRIENDSHIP TREE, PERRY THE BACKWARD PENGUIN, THE THREE LITTLE KITTENS, THE THREE PIGS, THE LITTLE RED HEN, ANY DREAM WILL DO, and MUSICAL THEATRE FOR YOUNG BEGINNERS as well as many other shows for Adventures in Education. As the Drama Director for Springfield Middle School, she has directed AN EVENING OF DRAMA, GROOVY, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, HONK! Jr., BACK TO THE FUTURE and KING ARTIE AND THE KNIGHTS OF THE RAD TABLE.
This is her sixteenth year as the Administrator of Adventure Camps. Elaine will be
directing The Magic School Bus Rides Again, Musical Theatre for Young Beginners, The Doo Wop Girls and Broadway Stars of Tomorrow this year.
